How to access Telstra Modem settings
In order to access your modem settings, all you need to know is the default address of your modem. We will be describing 2 methods by which you will be easily able to determine your modem’s default address.
Method #1- Using the internet
In this method, we will be using your browser and internet connection to find out your default address. This method will work with both Mac and PC. We have simplified this procedure and provided the steps below:-
Step 1- Make sure that your Laptop/PC is connected to your WIFI internet connection and your modem shows the green light.
Step 2- Open any browser on your Laptop/PC. You can take use of Internet explorer, chrome, opera or even Safari in case of Mac.
Step 3- Enter the URL of your modem into the search bar of the browser and Press Enter key. URL of your modem- http://10.0.0.138
This was a simple method for which you can use your Internet connection but if you are not suitable with this method for any reason then there is one more method which you can use to manually find out your modem’s default address. Let us now talk about that method.

Method #2- Using your PC/Laptop
In this method, the procedure of finding the modem’s default address is completely different on Mac and PC. We will be listing both of them.
For Windows users:
There are two different methods for Windows Vista, 7, 10 users and for Windows 8/8.1 users. Let us first take a look at the method which you can use in case you are running on Windows Vista, 7, 10.
Windows Vista, 7, 10
Step 1- Open the Command Prompt on your Laptop/PC. You can open the Command prompt by searching for it in the Search bar but the easy way is to hold WIN + R together at the same time.
Once you do that, a pop-up will open at the left bottom corner of your Laptop/PC and it will ask you for the command that you are willing to run. Just Enter cmd.exe there and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
Step 2- Once the command prompt launches, type “ipconfig” there and hit the enter key once again.
After that, you will be able to see your modem’s default address, next to the default address.
Step 1- First of all, you will have to run the Command Prompt. Keep holding the WIN + R at the same time and then choose Command prompt.
Step 2- Again, type ipconfig and hit the Enter key.
After that, your modem’s default address can be found next to the default settings in the result.
This was the method of determining your Modem’s default address in case you are a windows user. In case, you are running on Mac then the following method will help you.
For Mac Users:
Step 1- First of all, you will have to go to the System preferences section. You can enter there by clicking on the Apple logo and then choosing for System Preferences.
Step 2- In the system preferences section, select the Network option.
Step 3- Now, just select the internet connection that you are connected to.
Once you follow all the steps mentioned above, you will be easily able to determine the default address of your Modem. It will be listed next to the Router if you are connected through Ethernet cable.
If you are connected via WiFI then Click on the advanced option and select the TCP/IP option to determine your default address.
